Guidance material on measurement uncertainties

This ad hoc group is responsible for creating and maintaining the guidelines on measurement uncertainty for standards developed by IEC TC-29.

What do we cover

Guidelines to supplement the ISO/IEC Guide to Uncertainty of Measurement (GUM), including calculation of measurement uncertainty in decibel quantities for electroacoustical devices and measurement method standards.

Why is it important

The maximum permitted uncertainty (UMAX) affects the Acceptance Interval, which in turn determines conformity. Accurate estimation and calculation of measurement uncertainty is therefore critical. The guidelines developed and maintained by the AhG also serve to ensure uniform presentation and interpretation across the various standards developed and published by IEC TC-29.
