Chair Advisory Group

The Chair Advisory Group (CAG) was established in 2019, consisting primarily of the TC 29 officers and the leaders from the individual technical areas; the working group and maintenance team convenors. Its purpose is to maintain a dialogue across this leadership team on matters that improve the functioning of the Technical Committee.

What do we cover

Topics covered include; updates on IEC procedures and policies impacting the technical work, sharing of technical problems and solution arising in individuals groups, discussion of cross-discipline technical issues such as measurement uncertainty and conformance assessment, raising awareness of TC 29 including the development of this website, planning for meetings and the general streamlining of the work within TC 29.

Why is it important

Opportunities for the whole of TC 29 to meet are limited, but it is more manageable to convening of this smaller group of members responsible for driving forward the work of TC 29 on a more frequent basis. The CAG meets approximately every 9 months, benefiting consistency and continuity, and providing added encouragement to move projects forward. In the relatively short time since the CAG was formed it is also proving to be a valuable resource for developing cohesion and increasing the visibility of our work.
